You would have thought he would have had the sense to at least have lights on his bike

Idiot, not only risking his own life but potentially those of the emergency services that would have been expected to turn out if he had gone in.

The possible outcome may have been,

Cyclist gets swept into the sea, someone on the passing trains see it happen, they dial 999, police, coastguard and probably fire service attend, all 3 services risk their lives look for a plonker, what a waste of time and resources, unfortunately things like this happen all to often.

DW I assume this was on your local news? if that's the case I only hope they mentioned how stupid the cyclist was.

Baldhead (retired fireman)

I agree totally. I have been called out on a 999 for a drunken woman shaving her legs in the bath and just nicking herself, just one of a number of idiots I might add.

Roger, I call them senior moments lol

As a recreational mountaineer, who HAS been picked up by the wind and thrown several metres (I weighed 13 stone plus at the time) and a touring cyclist with 'war stories' to tell, I was initially going to defend this guy, as he is cycling upright and apparently in control of his bike in a questionably strong(?) wind.................................... THEN I re-watched the footage just after the train clears him and he is visible approaching the station.......Jebus, Mary and the Wee Donkey, WHAT a Great Steaming Plonker! Using his gonads for brains......
