As a new bandsaw user some years ago, this video sorted out all the issues I had at the time.

The sanding scratches are coarser than 320 grit, you need to remove the scratches before moving on to the next grit.

Looking at the picture, it’s soaking in more where you sanded it. Across the grain as well.

Nope. If anything, it has straightened up some out of square grinds.
