I’ve always stored my site tools in plastic (usually wheeled) boxes in a rather unorganised way. The only precaution I take is to protect edged tools ( chisels, planes, saws, etc)

My home workshop tools are currently on a tool wall but I’m planning a refurb and want to store them in a box or chest. I’m unsure what style to make, I did make a traditional joiners tool box during my apprenticeship but never actually used it.

The main criteria is organisation. Mobility and size isn’t really an issue. I can put it on casters if needed and it won’t be leaving my workshop any time soon (unless it’s nicked).

Any opinions, experiences, photos would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I store mine in a joiners tool chest, works well for me, not had any problems with rust since doing so, it forces me to keep all my tools organised, I'd build a tool cabinet but don't have the space currently, I think a tool cabinet is even better.
