(any month really, they are always great).
Many here know them, but I'd like to say thanks anyway. My nominations at the moment are these (in no order). Add your own if you fancy, and support the really good people we buy stuff from.

1] Ian Hawthorne - http://hawthornecrafts.com/
Ian took about half an hour with me discussing hinges, locks and the construction issues involved. He then sent me a lock that he doesn't even list as available. Top marks indeed

2] Ian at Tuff Saws - http://tuffsaws.co.uk/
I knew his blades were excellent, everyone here says so. But he goes the extra mile to get you what you want. Ian and I have been chatting quite a bit recently about thin-kerf blades, and I suspect he may have a couple of gems in the offing. Bags I test them first
Without a doubt the most accessible expert on his subject I have found, and his welds are things of beauty. (O.K., so I'm a bit weird.)

Hi
When you say thin kerf blades are you talking about bandsaw blades ive been trying to get thin bandsaw blades for a while now as starrett has stopped making them and ive only got 2 left

Indeed, woodaxed. Ian has 2 stocks in mind, both thin but also with very little set. Another he has I have tried on smaller machines was the .014 stock (very good but only for the smaller machines I believe). The new ones are around 3/4" and designed for mid-ripping (I guess 2" - 6"). I've got one on the way so am keen to test - brilliant for veneers and in particular bookmatching in highly-figured grain.
On the understanding I am just a customer who pays his invoices like everyone else, I'd say call Ian: 07896 058499
But if he lets you have the next level super-thin 018 before me , I will be upset

Hi
hes got .014 in he said when i spoke to him he could not get it but then i need 3/16" which is what i used from starrett and i use it on a large machine 130" length il give him a ring in the morning it may be he can only get .014" in wider blades fingers crossed and thanks for the info

btw i have a .018 x 1/8" blade which i didnt get from ian as i didnt know of him at the time

I have to add another vote for Ian and Tuffsaws....I have been making something today with it and this in solid beech is 6cm deep...near the capacity of the saw...

Very smooth cuts and very accurate...no drift at all and only a light sanding was required to produce this...

...fantastic on the straight as well as the curve.

Unbelievable performance!

I wonder what you could possibly be making there? I think you might have a few straight cuts to do next.

Ah HA! Finally...I have foxed the professor!

No Andy...that's it..just as it is...a component for a prototype...

Will keep you on tenterhooks until I have proved it works! 8)
