My son managed to break his bed and being on the autistic spectrum he wants the exact same bed but as he’s a large 14 yr old I don’t think they are strong enough so several plywood offcuts and a few spare lengths of cls and I knocked this up , no fancy joints just a simple construction and an extra strong frame , runners and handles saved from the original bed. Hastily Built over a few evenings , the top is under the mattress of the original bed as a temporary repair . Heavy duty casters to finish it off . Just hope he approves ..

Window repair done, just some filler in a few places and some paint.

Routed out the rot to give square profiles that good wood could be glued back into, then planed to the same profile.

The corner mortise was pretty much shot to had to rebuild it all around, pegged back to the old frame with 3x5mm dowels. Whole corner then pegged like the original. Will it last another 125yrs, who knows!

We bought some big bags of kindling a week or two ago, offcuts from a workshop. There were a couple of dozen pieces of oak, that have been routed out for handholds(I'm guessing). I made a crude jig to rout cross halvings at 60 degrees, but didn't think it through. Luckily the joinery was sloppy enough for me to force fit the third, identical piece.

I haven't posted much recently, however here is a guitar I made (along with all the spool clamps), very pleased with the end result. Was a lot of work over many weekends.
Sapele body, with flame maple top and a maple and sapele neck with a scarf joint.

That's very pretty. Can I ask you where you source the hardware as I think I'm ready to tackle my own guitar build? I've seen a few kits online at around £45 but I was expecting it to be more expensive than that.

A small cherry bowl with inlay and a little carving, a walnut pot with a celtic knot carving and a carved walnut garlic pot. Happy holidays to all.

On the subject of windows @Doug B, I nearly got this job all done by the end of the year, as I had promised client I would in February!!, last one of 7 fitted and trimmed in on Friday, they will have two plant on horizontal bars in the bottom panes (no duplex bars though) but ran out of time, and the weather hasn't really helped with fitting. (Brickwork is as was, nothing to do with me):

Some Christmas gifts.

The trees will have some bought in and others with 3d printed novelty baubles.

The bird house is for my father in law, made of hard wood oak flooring pieces, except the top which is a piece of Sapele.

Not what I had intended but not too bad I thought.

Made these from a single board for us, and have since sold them and bought two more boards.... Also had a request from a local charity for a few of the left hand one for their next christmas market. Hope I will be able to find the time....

Completed another guitar this afternoon, has taken around 3 months grabbing an hour or 2 in the workshop when I can.
Multi laminate through neck design made from sapele, maple, ash and walnut veneer, with a single neck pickup - got some flat wound strings on order to finish it off.
