    2mmx100mm drill bit?

Anybody know where i can get such a beast? All the extra long ones i can find end at 85mm length. Anything 100mm+ would be great, but 2mm is the max diameter i can use. I know it'd be weak, but i have to drill a blockage in a vintage pipe, which is right near the end and the drill would be...

    Shaving brush parts?

Does anybody know a uk supplier of knots to mount in a shaving brush handle please? I can find a couple in the states, but would prefer to not worry about getting stung by import fees for a couple of brushes!

    AWGB seminar - How much?!

I'd heard the 2009 seminar was pretty good, and fancied going this year. With that in mind i went ont the AWGB site, only to find it is £225 a ticket (not including dinner or accomodation)! I know it's 3 days, and there are 10 demonstrators, but £225?! You can go on a weeks holiday...

    Masur pot/box/form thing

My latest output from a nice toasty garage despite the weather! It's masur birch with a walnut lid, and is about 6" x 4", with a wall thickness about 4mm. The handle is old string, but it was put as a temporary thing until i decide whether to get some artificial gut or leather or something...

    Which hoover?!

After my last thread i reckon i don't want an extractor, i need a vacuum cleaner. I have no idea where to start however! I figure the Dyson won't cut it, but am unsure the benefits of a £300 jobby over one a third of that.... Any recommendations?

    Single or dual motor extractor?

Hi all, I'll be getting an dust extractor / shaving collector thingy in the not too distant. I'm after something not too huge, that can collect shavings and dust as i make them, and hoover up afterwards. I don't have wall space really so it could do with being portable. I have a Jet air filter...

    Burr chestnut bowl

Another recent-ish effort. The timber kindly donated by the ever generous Rich Burrow. (Thanks again sir!) It's around 11" at the widest point. I can't seem to get a decent pic, but enough of my excuses.....

    Guess what these are....

I turned these for a friend, although the exchange has saved me around £80! Good deal if you ask me! They're in Delrin, and had to be pretty accurate diameters. I was very proud that each of these was within 0.05mm. The smallest has a 'stem' of 13mm, the largest 17mm. But what are they? [/img]

    Burr elm wall hanging

One of the bits i've turned of late. It's 25" at it's longest diameter, and was my first chance to use my outboard extension. I think i need a some sort of footswitch, as running around the trning work to switch it off was a bit hair raising!

    Paint on 'rust' supplier?

Anyone know a decent supplier, preferably online and uk based, for this stuff? I fancy experimenting.... Cheers!

    SIP bandsaw help / manual?

Hi, I just bought a second hand SIP bandsaw (the 12"'Heavy Duty' item 01486), but got it home and nothing from the motor. I think the seller was kosher when he said it was working and it'd be easy enough to take back if needed. Anyway, anyone have the manual for this so i can check i'm not...

    Powercap lite stockists?

Hi guys, I'm seriously considering one of these, as i have tried the Trend airshield and find it cumbersome. (I definately need a decent repiator, the dust isn't doing me much good) The only thing is i not only wear glasses, but have various pierced bits and a pretty large head! I heard the...

    AVWSL1200 toolrest post diameter?

Yes i know i have one! I'm not a fan of the supplied toolrest (frankly it's doing my head in!). Anyway i've just discovered the conferenace i'm due to attend on Monday is in spitting distance of the Toolpost, and fancy a Sorby jobby. I thought about dropping in, but can't get to my workshop to...

    These air masks any good?

Spotted some of these going cheap on fleabay. http://www.sba.co.uk/product.asp?CategoryID=19&ProductID=152 Any use or would i better paying a bit more for a trend jobbie?

    Supanova 2 or Sorby Patriot?

I STILL haven't got rounf to getting a chuck, but have some nice bits of timber and ideas which will frankly require one, so figure i better bite the bullet. The Oneway Stronghold was recommended, but i can't justify that expenditure i think. Axminster Precision was second choice, but there is...

    Tightening loose pen tubes

Hi all, I've been turning a few pens of late, and have discovered that not all the brass tubes are made equal! One in particular has a very nice piece of tulipwood on it, but slips at the slightest touch, however sharp the gouge or fine the cut. I figure this can't be an isolated case, and...

    Repairing cast

Hi all, In a bizarre accident a rogue hammer flew from one end of the garage to the other and caught the cast surrounding the spindle on my shiny new lathe! It hit right between the indexing holes, and the cast iron there crumbled away into bits. It all still works fine, although i've...

    Making snakeskin blank/pen blanks

Hi all, I've seen those snakeskin pen blanks which cost a ruddy fortune, but wondered about how to make them myself. I have snakes at home, so shed skin turns up in large amounts every few weeks, which usually goes on the compost heap. So i need some kind of resin right? And a method of...
