I'm 16 hours off the operating table, having had 'trigger finger' of ny left hand 'relieved'. " Relieved"? Does anybody realise quite how many everyday tasks require two hands? (Oi! This is serious!). Twenty minutes ago, I suddenly realised I have to tie my shoelaces to go out and the Missus has already gone to work..... Now, I do have a pair of slip-on shoes, somewhere, but it took me a minute to remember and I was staring at my normal footwear and trying to work out the least embarassing mate/request I could make. Now here's a thing....my trouser belt buckle.....

An unfortunate, geographically, term for your condition Sammy.......:)

Hope you are well on your way to full dexterity.

Yes very much so - when the nerves & arteries in my left hand were repaired a yr or 2 ago - I found that out the following morning and it was far from pleasant for some weeks. But you learn to adapt.

Hope it improves!

Noel? :D

Thanks for the links Rog P and good wishes Greg. Dibs? Adapt? :D So far, washing one hand only, stuck zip on my cagoule, opening a bottle with a stiff twist top; oh, and how the hell do you operate a manual tin opener? First layer of bandages off tomorrow teatime...

Given that I now have had this surgery on both hands, do I qualify to join the Stigmati?

Sam, typing even slower than normal.

PS Andy? I know a really wiked tale about the mixed-sex three legged pub crawl that is actually true!! :D :D :D

Hope it goes well for you tomorrow.

Manual tin opener? Screw that - time to get an electric one!

Hopefully over time - the rest of the hand\fingers should learn to compensate.

If you don't mind me asking - what do you mean by relieved? Removed?

Dibs, I have thickening of the tendon sheath, in the centre of my palm, locking the finger closed. Surgeon opened the aperture to allow the tendon to run freely into the sheath (carpal tunnel?) running down the finger. Maybe now I can let go of door handles and grab handles onn the 'bus......

Lons? Most imaginative scene I've seen in ages. :D :D The big bald lad used to do a superb act centred round his double base. Perfick.

Cheers for clearing that up Sammy - well hopefully you be back to picking your nose with it in no time! LOL!

Get some hand cream & massage the surgery site at least once a day - minimises scar tissue buildup.

Regards
