I guess the pacemaker did not do it's job in the end- so why remove it ?
Ain't much good to anyone else !
Batteries don't last forever.
I've got one, but when I am gone - why bother ?
explodes in the furnace and leaves contaminants in the ash

You are absolutely right, whats even worse, I have no family but my extended family would not know what the tools are worth and either chuck em or give them away. One example is, I spoke to my brother in law when he came round and saw one of the Lie Nielson planes and said "Oh my Dad left me one like that" it was an unbranded plane that he bought at a boot sale for £3 years ago.
I'm looking forward to them cashing in my tools - faithful planes, Wickes chisels and saws - watching thier faces drop sorry not worth a penny!😭😭😭

I'll pass on my dad's record plane to my favourite grandchild before hand!

My tools are a combination of hand tools I’ve inherited, tools I’ve bought for specific jobs, and new machine tools I’ve bought since I retired. When I die one of my sons will happily turn up with a large van.
