Lathe advice

Hi. I'm new to wood turning and have just been given a lathe. It's only a starter lathe that I'll be using for learning on but it's come without a manual. I can't find one online and can't figure out how to remove the drive centre. It's a SIP 01488 and whilst I know it's not the best lathe, it'll do for me to learn on and was free.

Does anyone know how I remove the drive centre? I can take pictures if it helps.

Not familiar with that number but if it's the 10 speed with cone pulleys (Reeves Drive) then it has a hollow headstock & the centre can be knocked out using a suitable length bar.

I was about to say the same as Robbo3. Suitable bass for this can be bought at sensible prices from Screwfix if you buy a length of threaded rod.

It looks to me it might not have a hollow spindle.

I think you need two spanners, one to hold the spindle and one on the drive centre. I'm with Phil, I don't think it has a morse taper.
