I need to make an elegant support and I'm thinking perhaps a "birdcage frame" - thoughts?

Recently started dabbling in metalworking and came across this video. The whole video was very interesting but I was introduced to to something I had never seen or heard of but I bet many of this thread watchers know all about. It's an Ericsson Engine run from a cuppa tea.
