Could this work for sharpening gouges?

Found this an interesting idea, seems to work well enough on flat chisels but wondered if it could be used to sharpen gouges.

Machine powered rotating abrasive with an angle jig. Think it might have been done before in a far less irritating way. Would work on the outer face of an out-cannel gouge (but then, so would any powered or unpowered grinder), but you'd still need a shaped slip to clean up the inner.

You could make your own to go on the lathe with chuck mount from MDF or ply and have one disc for each grit you want to use.

It could but it looks awkward with the tip of the tool out of sight below the disc. Most turners get by with a bench grinder.
