Wet dreary day, so went down the shed.....

scratched me chin.... then thought  ahhh....

Inspired by Bellringers post a few weeks ago (hammer) i made this....

Made from corian, think its called 'snowflake'(?). Had a lump lying around from pen making a few years back which was already 2 x 12mm layers glued together. So cut 3 30mm squares and glued them together.

Used a medium sized 'egg' ring as a connection method between the top and bottom.

Overall height is 64mm, dia is 28mm, wall thickness approx 2.5mm, base thickness approx 3mm
There is approx 0.5mm clearance between the coin and the internal sides
It wasn't intended to fit a pound coin..... pure fluke :D

As always...... comments welcomed (homer)

I've made pens from the corian before (bought the 2 x 12mm glued lump off of ebay a few years back) so am familiar with the stuff.

Nice sharp tools and take it easy.... then the polishing.... my fave bit :D

Been looking at the bit i've got left for a while now and wondering what to do with it. Yes... definitely inspired alright :D

Got to be honest and say you can just about see a join line (under good light) halfway up the main body, and the same was also true of the top. So i decided to 'part' on the top joint and this made the lid.
