When you laugh out loud whilst reading something and you're asked what's so funny?

This, from an article about names, made me laugh out loud:

One of my musical acquaintances in Dublin 40 years ago had a very short neck - a VERY short neck. I had heard of his nickname before I met him and when I first saw him I burst into involuntary laughter. His nickname, and I'm smiling as I write, was The Man They Couldn't Hang.

But I imagine we all have different senses of humour...

I have read it three times.

Still not laughing.

I'm still smiling reading it again.
Well Graham, your turn, give us an example.

My mate from Alderny told me the local nickname for the very short policeman was Laptop. Because he was a small PC. No idea if it was true but it had me spitting out my pint at the time.

Not read - but on the radio.

Cricket commentary the other night:

'He's just tickled Willey round the corner!'

Nearly spat out my tea
Then on that basis 'The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey.' Just has to be remembered.

And don't forget the test match special where 'he couldn't get his leg over' had them collapsing in laughter (me too).

I always liked the sledging - I forget who this was (I know sod all about cricket) - You're getting fat! ... Yeah, every time I f*** your wife she gives me a biscuit. I have actually used that one.

Love it........but it did make me remember an comment my youngest Archie made.

We were at Frenchay hospital years ago and walked down to watch a local match at the hospital ground. As we went to sit down Arch shouted out rather too loudly to a very rotund batsman and to the rest involved, "Hit it, Fatman, Hit it". I nearly died.

We moved swiftly on............

But it has stayed as a family saying since every time we see anybody playing cricket..........dom

Derek Randall gets nowhere near a fast bouncer from Holding.
Holding says" its red and its round, you're supposed to hit it".

Next ball smashed for 6 over a stand.

Randall to Holding " You know what it looks like so i suggest you go and find it."
