does anyone know where i could get the v cutter for a stanley 71 in the uk i have the bar which looks like a normal cutter but it just has a screw in the bottom with no cutter would be grateful for any help

Hi,

I think you will have problems finding one, Stanley don't list them as a spare any more http://www.stanleytoolparts.com/planes- ... lanes.html.

You might have to search on Ebay, there is one with 5 cutters and two fences.

If you win it you could put it back up minus one cutter and even sell the fence on its own you should make your money back.

If you are in a hurry then the cutters for the Veritas Router are supposed to fit. Axminster sell them. They fitted my Record 71 OK and in Alf's review of the Veritas Router she says they fitted her Stanley. Probably get a much better quality cutter this way.
