No incredible joinery here I'm afraid just thought I'd post out of general interest. Wanted to get on before the cold weather kicked in, same with pressure washing the fence and restaining it.
Cills looked worse, than they actually were I think I could have left alone, until made replacement windows and bash all the old stuff out. Most of the rot was on the outside, hacked out to sound wood quite quickly. One of the nails you can see was 6 inches long. I know the repair is a bit of a bodge but just a stop gap until I make the replacements. Very handy having a diy scaffold tower. How the cill brick work, is not sure if want ears on the cills, ( ears, think that is the correct joinery term :) ) Or go to a reclamation yard get matching bricks and make up the course. Paid £14.38 for 75 x 75 x 2M Redwood PSE from Jewsons today. Had to run through table saw to get correct thickness to fill the gap. Dry Friday so will paint if have time.
