@Jameshow I can't believe how lucky I am, barely a scratch on me and no real bruising, my nose is a little sore and I've had a slight headache since but we went to the hospital on Sunday and got a scan to be safe and they say there's no visible damage so take ibuprofen and go easy for a few days.

Back out to give yesterday's fair lady a male friend, surprised myself with how quick I did this one, log to oiled in a little over 2 hours with constant stops to check measurements on my sketches, here he is....
And here's a shot of them both together, cut from one log, both stand about 9inches tall, would maybe look better off the male was a little taller but overall I'm really happy with them and I think our godson and partner will love them.

Not wood today but I made a ⅜ bsw drawbar (old coach bolt) and a small flycutter for the milling machine. Just need a bit of hss for the cutter and it'll be good to go

After work this evening I chilled out in my workshop and turned a little bowl. Nothing special , and I guess it’ll hang around the house and get used for sweets or spare change etc. But I really like this shape for some reason.
Is that going to be big enough for both of them?

I turned my first Oak tool handle for a bowl gouge that I'd been given (original handle in the pic too). I bought a sharpening setup this week and reprofiled the worn standard grind to a fingernail profile. I'm rather pleased with the final result.

This Mamod Roller was mine for a few pounds.
It did need a whole lot of work.
Nothing moved.
The level plug is missing, filler plug is serized and the boiler boss is spinning. Plus the whistle is broken.
This is the bottom of the chimney, you can see the lime scale. The boiler was worse.
Hot citric acid had it removed.
This was not good.
The rebuild.
Home plating kit had the fire box shinny.
Fire box was d erusted and the holes mig welded up.
Right hand side is the repaired roller. TIG welded into place.
Not the best welds. As TIg welding cast alloy is not easy.
Why did I not buy new parts?
Why when I can repair most parts and keep it original.
Rebuilding the engine.
New boiler Boss fittings were soldered into place. New/old stock whistle was brought. Safter valve rebuilt with new seals/
New sealed rivets are also used..
New Stock sticker, new burner tray and a home made scuttle.
Finished.
Looks great! I still have mine I got as a kid as well as my brothers traction engine.
First router inlay template for bowties made. Working out the offsets for bushings made my head hurt, but looks like it worked out. I’ll post more fully in my WIP about how I made them as it’s actually pretty easy

Pen for a friend turned this afternoon 
That is a beautiful bowl! Getting the inside tidy must have been quite a challenge!
A burnisher for my scrapers. Made using a 6mm tungsten rod. Handle is from a type of Laurel cut from the garden, a few years back. The ferrule is stainless steel, as I have had brass ones crack in the cold of my workshop.
Lovely. I had card scrapers for Xmas and using an old screwdriver on them just doesn’t feel right.
