Hi everybody, Ive just joined and thanks for having me, I have a query that maybe some other KITY owners could help me with I have the KITY combi 5 which has disposible planer blades and will very soon need replacements, is it possible to get these blades or are they obsolete as well. the size being 150mm x 20mm x 2.9 mm thats the two parts measured together. I see new hss blades on Ebay the same size but the thickness measurement is slighly less at 2.5mm would this work or could it turn out to be a dangerous concept Thank you Allan

Hi Allan

I assume when you say disposable that you mean very thin, 1mm double edged, reversable knives with seperate mounting blocks giving a total when mounted of 2.8mm. These knives had locating holes / slots. They were sold as an option accessory with the machine.
The normal knives supplied with the K5 were sold as a pair, were single edged and around 2.5mm thick and just plain with no necessity for slots or holes. (These are what I have and can be sharpened many times), they don't need additional blocks so if this is what you're looking at on ebay then they should definitely fit without problems.

If you don't have the manual then pm me, I have price lists and brochure on pdf as well.

cheers
Bob

Hi Bob, thanks for your quick reply yes that sounds exactly what the blades are and the ones on Ebay just the same as you describe, an easy solution, when I bought the machine I got many extra's including all the manuals and paperwork Thank you once again Allan

No problem Allan
Just dug this out of my archives.
