Kity 613 lower blade guides

Ive got a Kity 613 band saw which I'm very happy with.
I've noticed the 2 wood inserts that act as the lower blade guides are getting a tad worn.
Speaking to NMA who were very helpful, could'nt help as the parts are no longer available and suggested I make my which makes sense. (hammer)
Here's the question, which timber to use,,,,,,, beech? and if so where can I get a few small pieces?

Ideally, lignum vitae as it's self lubricating; that's what I ended up using for my Kity. But that's difficult to find unless you know someone who has old bowling woods, so beech will do fairly well. For the amount you need, it's probably worth looking around skips/"civic amenity sites" etc. for scrap chairs/cots etc., which are often made of well seasoned beech.
Otherwise, pm me and I could probably cut you some beech, or for a small consideration, some lignum
