I just took delivery of the new ipod shuffle. This thing is really small  I bought this for the wife, for her running. I have to say, something this size, the sound quality is amazing.

If your short of present ideas for xmas, heres one for £55 (can even get in engraved for free from apple)

My understanding of the shuffle model is that you cant actually cue a particular track cos after all its "shuffle" etc. Not to mention the whole "tied to itunes and apple formats nonsense" which I realise has become a non issue in the last day or two. All of which makes iPods a rather expensive thing at any price point doesnt it ?
Never did understand why ipods were so popular Im afraid.

not a fan of ipods here either. I dont like the way they put everything into a database. But then we have had heated discussions about apple on here before.

Well I think iPods are brilliant. Got one for LOML's birthday - 20GB model off ebay for £110. We download all the music we want off http://www.allofmp3.com/ for just a few cents per track and import it into my tunes library. Not bought anything off itunes yet. Fantastic quality and terrific intuitive interface. LOML reckons it's the best thing I've ever bought her - and we've been married 28 years!

I got myself a ipod video but only so I can run the Rockbox firmware on it.

http://www.rockbox.org

Has a lot more features than the apple firmware and changes the ipod so that songs can be put onto the drive without going through any program
