Got felt in Aldi today!

It's true! £3.99 for 10 pieces about 9" square. Each pack contains 2 of each colour, and there's 4 different colour packs - bright, pastel, primary and earth.
The reason I mention this is because I bought a pack to line a box I made last year and wondered if others might have a similar use for it.

Hi Martin In the past I have bought similar from Hobbies,but at that price they are a lot cheaper and no postage.If they and in one they should be in them all,thank you,for the post.

Not wishing to detract from the offer but can I just mention that quite often Poundland offer a pack of 10 felt squares in various colours, It's possibly not as good a quality as the Aldi offering and they don't always have it on the shelf but I have found it useful for backing fretwork and underneath the base of items. Worth a look if you happen to be near a Poundshop.

John, I've never noticed any in the pound shops that I frequent, which I must admit is only the two in York city centre, but I will be keeping an eye out for it now. Thanks for the tip. As for quality, I wouldn't mind betting it's the same stuff.

I am also wanting some thick felt for wipers on my lathe. I've asked in all the craft shops I know of and did manage to get some off ebay but it fell apart in no time, I guess it's not intended to be soaked in oil.

Talking of pound shops, I see there is an online 99p shop now which makes a big deal about being cheaper than the pound shops, but then charges a minimum of something like £2.40 postage. :mrgreen:

Martin when I last bought some felt in Poundland it was in the stationary section with the artists stuff but they do have a habit of offering job lots of stuff then you don't see the same item for several months.
