Good Samaritan need for newbie

Is one of you gents able to pick up a W570 thicknesser from charnwoods for me - http://www.charnwood.net/ProductDesc.js ... ckref=W570

they will not send it because it it a used M/C neither will they let me pay for it over the phone - so I will have to send the cash off to you by special delivery - I can then get a carrier to pick it up for me from you

Hi dewi and welcome to the forum.

Why not send the cash special delivery to Charnwoods and get the carrier to pick it up from them? Gotta be easier than trying to get a middle-man involved, and doesn't sound like an Internet scam that way.

I tried that - they want cash on collection only - I could have either switched them the cash or sent it special delivery - they wont have it = I explained how far away I was it made no difference - also the carrier expects a minimum of packing - so unless some good soul is prepared 2 help I am shafted

They were most unhelpful - a bloke called Stephan I spoke 2
