I have always bought 20 inch handsaws and was wondering why the difference of two inches? 20 or 22 inch

is it to do with height / arm stroke? or is there another reason?

 :D

I can't provide an explanation for this either. What I have noticed though is that a lot of people (mainly DIY and Hobbyists) don't use the full-length of the saw so, a couple of inches of teeth at both ends remain almost as sharp as they were the day the saw was bought... Don't know whether that has anything to do with it?

I once had a 20" saw  never did get on with it. i always use the full length of a saw, and 2" makes a difference!
