Dip pen

I was asked to make a dip pen with an ink well. As you can see from picture, I used a tea light holder for the ink, set into a wooden base (yew), with a removable lid. Any thoughts how else to do this to stop ink drying out. A bottle with a plastic lid was out of the question!

maybe a (tight) pivoting lid in yew? something like this stolen from tinterweb..

fit an O-ring into a turned groove on some wood and make a matching stopper!

Hi

If the budget will stretch to it I'd be going to antique shops looking for a cut glass inkwell with a silver top and then making the base / pen to suit.
