If bessey are the Rolls Royce, then these Dakota clamps are the proverbial Skoda.
However like a Skoda they will get you from a to b quite adequately. Just not in a lot of comfort.
The heavy duty jaws are moulded plastic and feel very cheap. The aluminium bar feels cheap. The screw mechanism feels cheap...
On the other hand I can get plenty of clamping pressure and they cost about one quarter the besseys.
So I will reach for my bessey first, and if I need twelve clamps for a project bring out the Dakota.
I would definitely say they are value for the hobby woodworker who always needs more clamps, but if you need to close gaps on large projects your mileage may vary.
