Hi

I'm asking if anyone has knowledge of a supplier who sells large nuts. I am looking for a 1 1/4" X 8 TPI. I've looked on line and cannot find a supplier. Someone indicated to me that this size may be used in oil and gas installations.

Or perhaps someone has a few one lurking in the back of their workshop, if so I would be prepared to purchase a couple of them.

Regards

Aden

What are they for? I just googled the thread size and it brought up hits for lathe chucks?

If it is used in gas/oil installations try giving pipe centre a call
http://www.pipecenter.co.uk/

They deal with the larger pipe fittings

I expect they are getting confused with 1 1/4 BSP which is nearer 1.65" OD and 11tpi.

You will probably have to get one machined

The Record Maxi 1 lathe for one has a 1-1/4" X 8tpi spindle thread.

Here's a couple of ISO Back Plates with 1-1/4" X 8tpi threads. They fit the current Versa Chuck or original Axminster Super Precission chuck.

Many thanks for all your kind informative comments.

John I'll try Sterling bolts as there only a drive away, if they cannot supply could I kindly ask Ian to PM me a price for manufacture of two nuts.

Thanks again for your help

Kind regards
