    Relaxation of planning rules

Agree, not for one minute suggesting its a bad idea. However the roof can only be 4 meters high, so 8 meters deep, wide as your hoause extension with only a 4 meter roof, mmmmm |I would prefer to see pitched roofs as the same as the original roof and same tiles etc, I am not a fan of two story...

Hammer A3 31 v Sedgwick MB Planer Thicknesser

I have the MB with Tersa block and I think its excellent, very heavy, solid, doesn't need too much adjustment, not finshed well but does works as it should. I had a Felder table saw some time ago and it was far better engineered although had some electrical problems (new circuit board £200)...

    Relaxation of planning rules

Its not new, your permitted devleopment rights already exist, all the announcement will do is allow 2 more metres than you already do anyway. Got some headlines however

Hi I am in the process of moving house and need to let a very secure barn/garage for all my woodworking tools/machines. Probably need a large garage size, and for around 6 months. Happy to pay, although I won't be happy if I see too much wood going through the thicknesser...... Looked at...

    Numatic NV750 Workshop Vacuum Extractor

I have one of these (and a chip extractor on wheels) and frankly none are great this one is very powerful but fills up very quickly (5 minutes on a p/t) the other takes more waste but I find the pipe gets clogged. In summary well built, powerful, works great for dust and hand tools but not...

    Mobile machine bases

I use 3-4" 6mm think angle iron and bolt casters on the bottom from Axminster, fixed at the back and swivel (with break) at the front. I bold the machine to the top of the iron I have sedgwick spindles and p/t in fact all my machines are on them, they also add weight and are very cheap

    Workbench envy...

I always make mine out of old worktops I take out of old houses and old fence posts, mind you my workshop looks like a mix of fashion from the 60s, 70s, 80's and even a very small piece of 2010 granite! It resembles something from a "changing rooms" makeover but free!

    Laying floorboards over concrete floor.

Hi have you thought of engineered wood if you spend enough looks very nice, this can be laid directly onto concrete (subject to DPC in situ). You would need to ensure the exisitng floor is dead level if not some self leveling compound will sort that out, this would loose the batterns and wont...

Hi Bought this about 3 years ago with the wheel kit and mitre guide, used it and found it very good, however at the same time bought my second hand Felder KF700 and since then the Batso's just sat in the corner being dusty. I just find I prefer the Felder for everything I need to do (and...

    Shed / Workshop Roofing!

I used metal corrugated roofing, its the plastic coated stuff that you see on B&Q's roof etc, the benefits are it can be used on a low pitch and its dead easy to fit and work with (angle grinder to cut it), it comes in all sorts of colours so looks OK, (not as nice as singles). Also they...

Hi I would just hump it all (but i am young and fit and enjoy it) Rather than footings I have in the past put in concrete god farthers (posts) in the ground every 4-5 feet apart and bolted 3x4 posts to these then cladded with timber. I had a single slop roof which you may be able to...
