    Hi all. I've been given a log (think its beech not sure) problem is its got cracks on both ends but the cracks are in different directions. Its about 12" dia and 15" long, so what should i do split it or try to cut the cracks out. Any suggestions?

    record cl1

    Just been putting together my new cl1,all went well until i came to the headstock. looks like its held together with one nut and bolt with a celloc pin from stoping the nut from turning,looks a bit unsafe to me but maybe thats the way it is.Anybody out there know if this is right or not.Thanks

    hi, im thinking of buying a record cl1 as my first lathe is this a good choice.have allso looked at the charnwood and fox f46 but i think the record wins on build quality.
