I am making some softwood doors and windows for a barn conversion which will be stained to match a garage door. The garage door is steel but with a laminate coating to look like "golden oak". The golden oak is the same colour as the oak effect PVC windows that you can get so this is what the windows need to look like.
The plan was to stain the windows with Sikkens light oak but when the garage door was fitted it looked a darker colour then the customer expected.
The windows have already had a coat of the Sikkens light oak basecoat so now need to decide on shade of topcoat, there are loads available.
Basically does anyone know which Sikkens topcoat (Cetol Filter 7) is roughly the same colour as oak effect PVC windows?
