Tool-line offer on Record Power SS16V

Just had an email through, not sure if it's any good or whatever, so don't shoot the messenger. Just thought it could be a deal for you lot in this sub-forum and figured not everyone is on Tool-line's mailing list.

Unfortunately Record is not the company it once was, they used to make most of their machines and tools in Sheffield and they were of 100% top quality, once the American Tool company took them over they closed the Sheffield works and just stuck Record Power badges on Far eastern made stuff which in no way compared to the Sheffield made products, the saw mentioned here is one such item which is available under many other brand names, it's Ok for general use but not really the answer for serious scroll-sawing.

However thanks for posting details, it's always good to know what is available.

Right on. We (collectively on this forum) seem to still like Record bandsaws so had no idea about this particular offering. Good to know.

looks the same as the lidl one recently

lidl is cheaper *£70 iirc) and probably loads left, there are in the local lidl here.

Looks almost identical to the Parkside I bought recently for £59.99, and great value at that price.
