Has anyone turned or otherwise worked Chinese Privet? My friendly tree-felling expert - the source of my supply of CP - tells me he's heard it called "poor man's box".
Certainly my initial reaction is that it's very similar, promising to be a joy to work fine detail with.........but it is of course still very very green!
My internet searching identified it as a fast-growing specimen, which is not a rate of growth I'd associate with what appears to be such a delightfully 'dense' timber!
Any info very welcome!
And in passing, can anyone tell me what makes a "Twisted Lime" twisted?, and is it a good thing? (yup, same tree feller also found me some of that too).
