Don't know if it's the wood used,but also noticed it on Craigs Video,that there seems to be a lot of very fine dust created using this tool.
Is this just down to the fact of the amount of wood been removed :shock:

Well that and the high speed, but there are also a LOT of long curlies, I have some that are very thin, and about 3 feet long, I'm sure the dust created, I'm sure is from the endgrain part of the bowl.

I've done a total of 7 blanks now, and I turned the carbide insert to use the second side, but I noticed little difference, on the 8th bowl, so I'll turn it back to the 1st side again, still sharp, and has a few rough outs left in it.
