Had a log left in the garden and I'm due to get some more soon so thought I'd blank it up, chopped the end off as it was cracking
and ended up with this as each end (was much brighter but I've resealed it)
Got excited and chopped the log in half and its not running all the way though I'm now wondering what to do with them, its 9" min diameter and 14" long, would it be worth trying to turn it end grain into a vessel or would I be better off making bowl blanks out of it ? I didnt know if it was a bit too big for turning and leaving the pith in ?
Any suggestions welcome
