Regarding the C jaws. They are Axminster version of what everyone else calls 50mm or Standard jaws. I can only compare to Record Power 50mm jaws, the C jaws are quite a bit 'chunkier'. Not sure about the optimal tenon size but the optimal recess needed is quite a lot bigger on the C jaws. I haven't found this to be an issue but thought I'd mention it.
 
The wood plate jaws came back in stock the other day (not sure if price increased). I purchased the 150mm ones and have used them a few times, very useful. Regarding the longer chuck key, I still only have the short key and the handle just catches the back of the plywood plate. I think it'd need only a few mm grinding off the handles, think I'll do that. So the longer key isn't 100% necessary, even though convenient.
