As some of you know i am building a nice toolbox for work. If you don't? Where have you been?

At the time of starting the build i only had a couple of the items designated for the toolbox. So i thought i needed to rectify that urgent situation.

So the other week i placed an order with WHS and then again last friday

So these are what was delivered :)

The block plane has already been used at work last week, and after cleaning all that horrible gunk off the No 62 i tried it out on a piece of pine. It was nice to use a plane straight out the box and no fettling needed - yet. ;)

Full review of both after i have spent more time with the kids

Two great looking pieces of kit.

Only recently back into woodwork and had forgot how satisfying it is to hand plane wood. And how easy it is to collect planes.

The wife always asks why do you need more than one saw, plane etc... to which I reply, why do you need so many pairs of shoes?

Happy planing

John

Look forwards to hearing how the 62 goes, you say no fettling, is that coz you haven't done any yet or that it dosent need it? I'm just curious. Looks like a good but of kit.
Enjoy.
The LABP is superb

I have the same low angle block and the ordinary jack plane. Both very nice and glad I brought them.

It's just what i have read about others mentioning sharp edges etc. The one thing i have found in the 10 minutes i was playing with it. The handle feels like it was made for a 4yo hands.

So new handles will be made at some point when some suitable timber is aquired :)

Ohhh yes. They are a top shelf product. Something about tool porn was mentioned
