Record vice parts wanted

Quick action trigger and mechanism wanted for a Record no.35

same as this one. Currently the vice works without the quick action, but it would be nice to get it in full working condition, so if anyone can advise where bits for this could be purchased I would be delighted...bosshogg

There may be a reason why the QR was missing - it could be that, like the one sitting in my garage, it was inclined to let go at embarrassing moments. So be careful if you get secondhand bits to repair it. You could be letting yourself in for a lot of frustration

Good advice, however I have striped and repaired the threads both to the main screw and half block for exactly this reason, this involved dressing the treads with a drift to realign folded/bossed sections then bedding them via scraping etc. a lot of work, but worth it I hope.
