Hi Mock, I got one from Record as part of helping solving a problem on a lathe in conjunction with their design team. Funny I asked if they had AC2 instead, but they didn't go for it.

However, once I had beefed up the filtration, it works well, it is a tad loud. I do have a flat MICROCLENE MC760 on the wall by my lathe which picks up dust drift from my woodturning activities and is nice and quiet.

I use the AC1 on a timer as I exit the workshop for 15 minutes and it does a great job. I do use a half-mask when producing airborne dust.

In summary AC1 for a garage size workshop is fine, it is loud if you can live with noise. Filtration on the AC2 is better. But hey if its a freebie, beef up the filters and live with the noise.
