I thought I would make something different from my normal model making stuff.

  • 1/4" thick mild steel plate
  • 1" diameter finger and thumb grips
  • 1/2" BSW thread - runs in a brass sleeved nut
  • freely rotating brass hex foot
  • machined blunt knife edge
The BSW thread is superb for this type of application as it has a rounded peak, hence quite tactile.

The nut names stamped into the main body were done using a press, this allowed me to control them better and get some depth. I wanted them to look a tad random.
 
Haven't eaten hazel nuts for years, but I remember as a kid breaking them on the tiled floor with a hammer.

No plans needed. lol
