to my eye it's in pretty good condition. needs a little cleaning up but not much. All teeth are preset and it's straight :)

on another note, just went through a few saws father in law gave me a couple of years back (been sat in a box since moving house). There's at least one disston in there :)

I bought one of those saws new, in Truro in the early-mid nineties.

I got it mainly because it was an actual Disston, but I was under no illusions. I knew that at £9.00 it was inexpensive, even back then and probably wasn't the same quality as an older saw might have been.

I won't decry the saw, because it's a decent one, but I always felt I didn't have a 'real' Disston, especially with the machine made handle and the 'sketchy' carving. But the main thing I suppose is the that I still have it and it still cuts well.

Overall I think you'll be happy with yours.
