Hello all

Been interested in getting a scroll saw for the past year and now that winter's approaching it maybe time for me to make the move.
After doing a lot of reading about different saw brands there only really seems to be one option in the UK and that's a Hegner!
After a look about i see Amazon.DE (Germany) sell the Hegner Multicut SE for 949 euro's (£796) at current rate, Works out about £820 delivered compared to me getting it in the UK for £934 delivered.
A healthy saving that would pay for a footswitch.
Has anyone bought one direct from Germany? Any problems etc? It says on amazon.de it is 240v so i imagine just cut the plug of and wire a UK 3 pin plug on?

On a side note i would like to cut metal shapes (1.5mm thick aluminium) for my wife, Any recommendations on blades for this?

many thanks and any other tips etc about the world of scroll sawing and I'd'd be grateful!

James

Sounds like a really good deal. As for metal cutting blades I would visit Mikes workshop, he has a good selection of metal cutting blades and will give advice on what you need.

I think my main concern would be in your linguistic abilities. If things start to go wrong there would be no point in swearing at it in english. :)

I saw your post and when I found out about the sale I thought I would give you a heads up

save you having to faff around with a german model and the plug especially since they beat us last night
