Lady using the scroll saw
Said that she always wipes the table with grease proof paper
Before she starts scrolling what would be the reason behind this

To reduce blade friction. Similar to rubbing the blade with a wax candle.
I used to use candle method, but gave up using it as often caused glue up and finishing problems.

Never heard of doing that, every couple of months or so, I've always just polished the table with Woodwax22. There are other paste waxes out there.

Just another person's take on reducing table friction. Tables are usually alloy or cast iron, alluminium oxidises with the atmosphere quite heavily so polishing the surface helps with this. Polish and waxes are good but be aware of cross contamination from silicones etc which might spoil your project.
