We have a fixed skylight giving much needed daylight to a passage in the house. It is on the southside of the house and the well below the light is about 2ft deep. It gets very hot in there and has systematically shrugged off any paint that we have applied in under 6 months.

Can anyone suggest a solution that would still allow us to use an interior finish to match the rest of the passage that it sits above?

Thanks

Cheers

Tim

Paint it just before the estate agent starts showing people round?

Is it worth putting a mirror film an the outside and/or cutting a vent into the well to dissipate the heat from the sun?

Rich.

Have a look at the "ranch paint" I can't remember if it is an international brand but it is usually in a red tin. It is totally breathable and is if I remember correctly guaranteed for 5 years against blistering. I have used it before and it is very good, ideal for protection against south & west facing sun positions.

B&Q sell it but so do a lot of other places.
