Hi,
I've got some treated t&g cladding (15mm thick, 115mm tall) to dress up the garage, I've got vertical battens at 600mm centres attached to the garage wall.
What options have I got for fixing the cladding to the battens? I'm assuming the normal way would be face fix the first piece of cladding then secret nail the next rows through with smallish nails/brads??
Or have I got that wrong?
I'd prefer to screw the cladding to the battens for a bit of extra strength (and screws are dirt cheap compared to nail packs) can I screw through the middle of the cladding boards or am I at risk of it splitting with seasonal movement?
This is a very simple job yet I appear to be making it complicated
Help!
