Hi all,

I have an elu of97e router (the same as the current DeWalt DW621K version). I have had this from new and it's been superb. Went to use it this morning and it has developed a problem. It starts, spins up to speed then stops.

Any ideas? I know we have some electrical geniuses around here. :)

Amazingly I was only telling a friend last night how good this router has been and that it's never missed a beat. Never tempt fate!

Take the top cover off.... 2 screws holding that on
look at brushes and see that they are touching the armature
you can easily remove these if you wish
if they look ok then start it up with the cover off ( usual safety aspects)
look for lots of sparking from the brushes
after this test its likely to be the speed control module
