Hi Guys
Another post from me, this is another earring stand, it stands 7" high and is 4.5" diameter, these earring stands are inspired by the very talented Steve Jones, please check his videos out on youtube, he goes under Woodturner21, an absolute master with the skew and all tools to be fair, any hope you like it and if you know what wood it is please say so, as usual c&c welcome
cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

If the third photo is a sample of the wood, then I feel certain it is oak, though it looks as if it has some brown oak in it as well as a bit of but (or pippiness) in it.

I guess burr walnut .. but to be fair I really dont know much.

Nice design to the stand as well :)

I'm not buying oak - no radial shakes
How about elm? Although, I've never worked with it.

Nice job

Very nice piece of turning: great proportion and balance; the beads / detail is really crisp, easy to lose this 'crispness' when sanding but you've lost none - very nice indeed.

Thanks for sharing,

Simon
