bullpoop.
not enough mass in the airframe to push a saw in to anything, they also don't fly completely sideways to cut icicles from an eve.
or for that matter enough to resist the force of a saw hitting wood.

The main question is WHY?

If flew over my place, I'd shoot it out of the sky then sue the owner for a million.

Agreed, looking at the mount there doesn't appear to be any method to rotate the 'blade' to allow sideways cutting, hence only long shots of collisions rather than cutting, the cutting was either faked by manually holding the rig or the saw was removed and remounted sideways.

Having said that homicidal mischief is just a shortening period of time away. Then all drone enthusiasts will by psycho wierdo pariahs like us gun enthusiasts.

You want to see the drone + machine gun video. It's 100% fake but equally pant filling non-the-less https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNPJMk2fgJU

But the drone with chainsaw is based on something really real it appears. Here's a helicopter with what appear to be a string of circular saws dangling underneath and gets used for trimming treelines next to railways and roads. The video has it coming worryingly close to power (?) lines https://youtu.be/YLf1s62bDiQ?t=135

The wingspan looked to be greater than the bar length - the blades would contact before the bar could be used in anger causing the drone to crash.

A shared passion? handguns were a very big part of my life for more than 20 years.

Mine too until the ban. The only time I've unwillingly made money.

By now, with more disposable income, I might have been building a small collection of milestones in semi-auto design evolution.

If I'd been in the IRA I'd have been allowed to keep them longer.

Ho-hum.

ditto, 8 grand in the bank but I'd rather have kept shooting.

Did you go to the ad pistol meetings at bisley? Didnt miss one from 84 till 2002

Yes, most years since I found out about it. Saw Jerry Miculek shoot fully auto speeds from a revolver; unbelievable.

Bought a very cheap .380 Basque pistol there, paid at the stall then wait a week or two for the paperwork to complete. I already had a slot.

I do miss those meets.

I used to take a half dozen pistols and a couple thousand rounds, stayed for 5 days. Only holiday I had for about 10 years.

Cyprus doesnt allow any pistols or rifles. Only 177 air rifle and shotgun.

bit of a difference though, about 1/2 a ton or so of difference in fact. lol.
heres what happens when you do it to a quad (a very very expensive quad, given to him for free, because he's famous in america, not jealous at all)

It's not the size that's important! Or so I'm told :?

From the looks of things, we have little to worry about from consumer drones at the moment. Which is just as well really    That said, somebody somewhere has to be making a drones version of Robot Wars (hammer)
