About to put together some pre made dovetail drawer boxes and I'm wondering whether to glue the bottom in or not. Should it be left loose like door panels ?

It's a 6mm ply base grooved into the sides and backs , I just didn't know if it would rattle.

If door panels or drawer bottoms are MDF/Ply then glue them in it adds so much strength without any movement issues

Yeah I'm thinking that too , specially as its only 6mm bottoms might help to stop it sagging. They're nit full depth drawers either only 450 mm.

A tip my old woodwork teacher gave me, if your worried about a piece of timber rattling in a groove (such as a drawer bottom) place a thin strip of felt into the groove, then when you fit the timber you can trim the felt so its not visible. Apparently cabinet makers used to do this years ago when glazing doors.

Yeah you can get cloth glazing tape which does the same for glass.

I've put the first one together now. I just put a small dab of glue in the middle of each groove.
