I'm looking for some advice on dimensioning pallet wood;
I'm making some shelves and cutting the pallets down to size and shape and over cladding (gluing then pinning) a piece of ply.
My question is; I want a uniform thickness to ensure as flat a surface as possible - but only want to reduce the thickness of the 'bottom' of the boards as I want to keep the weathered patina as a feature. What's the best and quickest solution?
I was thinking maybe a power planer?
I know all about selecting the right pallets and have a metal detector to ensure they are de-nailed etc, so no lectures!!
