Colouring Rustins Grain Filler - Do I use dye or pigment?

As topic asks.

I want to make a darker grain filler for sapele, have used Mohogany shade before but really like the idea of something near black as filler. I have no experience but ive seen pigments for sale, is it as simple as just mixing some in?

I have not used Rustins grain filler but looking at their website it seems as though you can mix their 'ebony interior and exterior wood dye' with the filler to get the shade you want. This mix will stain your wood black so you can either put a coat of sealer on first or cut it right back after the filler has dried if you want the black in the grain only.
