I have a Bosch GSM 12 compound mitre saw, it has given great service over the last 15 years or so. However recently the tilt mechanism for moving the blade to left or right to cut down at an angle has become very stiff, indeed so stiff today that it would not move. Any advice as how to free it up will be greatly appreciated.

Its possibly a build up of dust on the threads. If you can access it, clean the thread and wipe on some fresh grease.
You could also check the mountings haven't loosened, and the weight of the motor is adding pressure on the mechanism.

Could you make up your mind which model it is. The thread title says one thing; the text of your post says another. I guess the GSM12 is the mobile model.
