Bandsaw spring

Could anyone suggest a possible source of bandsaw tension springs?

I have a Minimax Professional 32 and the spring is mangled but Minimax don't do spares for the machine any more. Also, I've no manual or anything so I don't know how long the original was when it was new.

Maybe mail them if indeed the model was ever on sale in the US. Other option is to contact Minimax in Italy?

Nah, not there Noel. It's an old model.

I'll maybe try Italy if I can't think of something else. It only looks like a glorified car valve spring so I might experiment a bit.

Should be a branch or a partner near you and if they don't do springs, although I'm pretty sure they do, they'll be able to tell you who does.
Also www.wyko.co.uk or similar industrial suppliers. Check yellow pages or www.yell.com for similar.
